Music was great, environment sucked
We got the “VIP experience”. It wasn’t much of an experience. Early access to merch and over cooked chicken strips. The DJ’s were awesome. I love the music. The environment at Bill Graham is long past what it once was. The crowd there was wild and young which we expected. What we didn’t expect was kids going buck wild all over the place, high as kites being disruptive. We saw multiple people fall down staircases and one guy close to falling off the balcony to the lower level below. No security, no medical in sight. The girl behind me kept spilling her drink on me. She was so far gone there was no point in saying anything. I was very disappointed in this venue.
Not bad - Not great
Music was good with all the DJs; venue camping was not great. We paid extra for Gold camping and even with the masses of people 1/2 of the porta potties were not unlocked and were left locked all weekend long; several had other issues. Also, many of the trailer bathrooms/showers where locked as well all weekend. Really disappointed to have spent the extra money and for the venue taking advantage of people by not offering up the full services that they could have. Attendee vibes were good. Some technical issues on the stage on night 1, but Nick (ILLENIUM) to his credit offered those that had one day ticket to come back on the second day for free. Nothing was offered however to those of us that already had paid for 2 day tickets. Overall I would rate the whole experience as B- and most of the downgrade due to venue issues and some of the technical difficulties.
Good Show
Illenium has such a big fan following. I am not surprised that it got so crowded on the floor. Unfortunately, the down side when it gets so crowded on a standing venue is that you will be stepped on and you will be pushed and shoved around. There were constant people pushing their way into the crowd which gets annoying because I could not enjoy the show as much as I wanted to.
However, Illenium gave such a great show. I loved the lights and all the other effects. I have been to Big Night Live a few times now. I do like the concept of the venue.
